Rinca Island

Location

Rinca Island is located in the west Flores close to Padar Island its take two hours from Labuan Bajo harbor by boat. The island is 198 square kilometers wide and a hamlet named Pasir Panjang consisting of several villages in it. Most of the population works as fishermen and selling food in a stall. This UNESCO heritage island is the second largest place habitat of the Komodo dragon after Komodo Island. Rinca Island filled with savanna and the dragons here is smaller in size than in Komodo Island. 

Activity

Rinca Island is good for trekking because has a stunning savannah hills overlooking the sea. See the dragons from closer in their pure nature and other wild animals. But remember, you should be obeying the rules not to scream and make sudden movement near the dragons because they will aggressive and can attack you. But no need to worry you will be accompanied by the local ranger. You can walk up to the hill to enjoy the beach and sea view from above. Beside trekking have fun on the beach is also the best moment for everyone who visiting here. You can walk and relax on the beach while taking photo in white and pink sand beach which is enchanting.

Preparation

Before sailing to Rinca Island, you must prepare something for the convenience and smoothness of your vacation. Make your vacation plan like tour package and the boat that you will use.
